Transport:
The nearest train station is Clunderwen, which is ten minutes drive away or about an hour by walking. If you are planning to get a taxi from the station, we advise that you book this in advance to avoid long waits.
Shops & amenities:
We are situated in open countryside. There is nothing for miles around apart from farms, lanes, and woodland. The nearest shops are about 10 minutes drive / 1 hour walk. The only amenities in the valley are a chapel, a school, and llamas.
Food:
The Lodge is self catering accommodation. You will need to bring your own food to last you the duration of your stay (or be prepared to get a taxi / walk to a shop to purchase more food) The Lodge has an electric oven, microwave, small electric hob, fridge, and sink.
We supply basic tea / coffee / sugar.
Additional Costs:
Llama treks: Llama treks are available for guests to book - £45 per person (approx 2 hours / 3 miles). You will need to book this in advance of your arrival.
Extra logs: We supply enough logs and kindling to last on average two nights. Matches and paper supplied. Guests may want to bring fire lighters if they aren't used to lighting fires with matches and paper. £10 for a large crate (same size crate as used by supermarket delivery companies)
Eggs - £2 for 6
Check In / Out:
Check in time at the Llama Lodge is anytime from 4pm onwards. Earlier check ins are not available - there will usually be guests checking out of the lodge on the same day that you check in, and the cleaners don't usually finish cleaning until just before 4pm. Guests arriving earlier will have to return at 4.
We ask that all guests vacate the Lodge by 12 midday so that we can prepare the Lodge for the next guests arriving later in the afternoon.
Out of season visits:
In the colder months you may wish to bring slippers or thick socks, as the wooden floor can be quite cold, especially if the log burner is not lit. Note that some outside areas can get quite muddy in the colder months - especially around the llamas, so you may wish to bring wellies.
The Llama Lodge has the following amenities:
Heating: log burner
Electric mini oven
Two hob camp stove
Microwave
Toaster
Kettle
Fridge
Shower

***Important - number of guests staying***
Please ensure you notify us in advance of the correct number of guests when booking (unless you all want to share a single bed!)
We need to know in advance if there are more than two guests, as there are additional costs that need to be factored into the booking.
If a different amount of guests arrive to that stated when booking, we will need you to pay the difference before receiving the keys to the lodge.
Allergies:
Note that many guests enjoy feeding our cats and allowing them to stay in the lodge during their stay. We don’t mind this, but as a result anyone booking should be aware that due to the high number of guests feeding the cats, they will expect to come inside with you. The lodge is thoroughly cleaned between stays, but guests should note that the listing is not necessarily suitable for people with cat allergies or those who are not keen on cats.
If you are sensitive to allergens or old wood the lodge may not be suitable for you: the lodge is over 18 years old and has some historical damage to some of the walls. Whilst this was long ago remedied and has never been a major issue for guests, wood will naturally retain some moisture and therefore if you think this may be an issue for you, or you have a particularly sensitive respiratory issue, this may not be the best place for you to stay.
*If you want to live in nature, then you must accept living amongst nature*
You may be visited by various creatures during your stay. There may be cobwebs in the lodge. This is all part of living in a natural structure. Guests may also encounter animal waste outside the lodge. This is part of living in nature and on a farm.
