Snug as a llama in woolly nirvana
The Llama Lodge is the ideal place to come and stay for your visit to Pembrokeshire and South West Wales. A wooden cabin comprising of a large living area and kitchen, separate bedroom, and full bathroom, The Llama Lodge is utterly unique in that it is the only place you can stay while llamas graze right outside your window.
The Llama Lodge sits snuggly on the side of the wooded valley of Rhydwilym, which in turns is nestled just south of the Preseli mountains and Pembrokeshire National Park.
Not a bad view to wake up to…
The Llama Lodge has a dedicated fast wifi link (perfect for video calls to show friends and family the llamas outside!), electric oven, two hob electric stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, shower, sinks, flushing toilet, hot water, king size bed, and drinking water. A travel cot can be provided upon request.
The only noise is the roar of the log burner…
…and the white noise of the Black Cleddau river running deep in the valley below. And maybe an owl or seven.
Free range eggs* for you, hay for the llamas…
Will breakfast be served next to the cosy log burner, or outside next to the dining llamas?

Some of the finest beaches in Britain on your doorstep…
Pembrokeshire is host to some of the finest beaches in Britain. Our farm is conveniently placed right in the centre of the peninsula, meaning that amazing coastline awaits you whether you travel North, West, or South.
Nature all around
Bask in the ambient heat supplied by the log burner and connect with your ancestral genetic memory by staring into the evening flames.
Enjoy the slow, quiet pace of life in this unspoilt, unknown valley in Wild West Wales. By day, watch the birds feed from the stations all around the cabin. At night, listen to the owls sing. Dedicated watchers may be rewarded with a display from the resident hedgehogs or bats.
A digital detox in the countryside surrounded by trees and animals (but with all modern conveniences if you want them)

“We had a lovely weekend here in the log cabin. Such a quiet and peaceful location, surrounded by nature and of course, the inquisitive llamas that come up to the door and peak in! It was a superb location, very clean and our hosts were thoughtful, helpful and happy to tell us more about the wonderful animals that kept us entertained. The log fire was amazing and we had great nights, chilling by the fire with a beer or wine or two. We would def recommend this property and would def return in the future. Thank you Matt & Alex”

Check In / Out:
Check in time at the Llama Lodge is anytime from 4pm onwards.
We ask that all guests vacate the Lodge by 12 midday so that we can prepare the Lodge for the next guests arriving later in the afternoon.
Electrics:
The Llama Lodge is connected to mains electricity. However, there is a limit on how many electrical appliances can be plugged in at any one time. Phone chargers, hair dryers and other small appliances should be fine, but please do not bring any high power devices, such as electrical heaters, as these will trip the power supply to both the lodge and the main house.
Out of season visits:
In the colder months you may wish to bring slippers or thick socks, as the wooden floor can be quite cold, especially if the log burner is not lit. Guests may also want to bring their own extra logs for the fire - please ensure they are well seasoned if so, otherwise they can damage the chimney and / or pose a fire risk. Please do not bring coal as the burner is not designed for this. Please do not burn cardboard as this generates a huge amount of ash, and the ash tray is very small.
Note that some outside areas can get quite muddy in the colder months - especially around the llamas, so you may wish to bring wellies.

***Early check ins***
Early checks ins (before 4pm) are not normally available. There will usually be guests checking out of the lodge on the same day that you check in, and the cleaners don't usually finish cleaning until just before 4pm.
***Important - number of guests staying***
Please ensure you notify us in advance of the correct number of guests when booking (unless you all want to share a single bed!)
We need to know in advance if there are more than two guests, as there are additional costs that need to be factored into the booking.
If a different amount of guests arrive to that stated when booking, we will need you to pay the difference before receiving the keys to the lodge.
Allergies:
Note that many guests enjoy feeding our cats and allowing them to stay in the lodge during their stay. We don’t mind this, but as a result anyone booking should be aware that due to the high number of guests feeding the cats, they will expect to come inside with you. The lodge is thoroughly cleaned between stays, but guests should note that the listing is not necessarily suitable for people with cat allergies or those who are not keen on cats.
If you are sensitive to allergens or old wood the lodge may not be suitable for you: the lodge is over 18 years old and has some historical damage to some of the walls. Whilst this was long ago remedied and has never been a major issue for guests, wood will naturally retain some moisture and therefore if you think this may be an issue for you, or you have a particularly sensitive respiratory issue, this may not be the best place for you to stay.
*If you want to live in nature, then you must accept living amongst nature*
You may be visited by various creatures during your stay. There may be cobwebs in the lodge. This is all part of living in a natural structure. Guests may also encounter animal waste outside the lodge. This is part of living in nature and on a farm.
If your visit is a surprise for someone in your group, we are happy to help / use discretion, but please let us know in advance if you are planning something, otherwise we will assume everyone in your party knows what they are doing and may end up inadvertently spoiling your surprise!
